Criteria for Family Club Resorts and Hotels in Vorarlberg

FAMILY CLUB RESORTS:

• Playground/nature or adventure playground
• Public outdoor or indoor swimming pool, lakeside/riverside bathing area in or close to the resort
• Sports and leisure facilities
• Supervised games rooms for bad weather
• Rental facilities for sport equipment, games and books
• Picnic sites
• Babysitter service (surcharge)
• Family Program or children’s supervision on at least 5 days a week in the peak season in summer; in winter ski and visitors’ kindergarten in the resort/ski area in winter
• Minimum of at least 1 Family Club partner business in the village 

FAMILY CLUB HOTELS

Family-friendly rooms and apartments/units 

The business must meet the following criteria and/or offer the following facilities:

• Spacious family rooms or apartments (ample storage and shelf space, corner seating in the room, sufficient shelf space in the bathroom)
• Cot, children’s or spare bed
• Stool or footstool for children to use the wash basin
• Protected wall plugs (where necessary)
•Facilities for drying hand washing in the bathroom
•Laundry and drying facilities
• Laundry service (surcharge) 

Extra baby package (service for babies and infants) is mentioned separately.
• The baby package includes i.a. a crib/cot, high chair, nursery table/top, pot or infants’ toilet seat top, bottle or baby food warmer (in the hotel kitchen), nappy disposal bin, infants’ tub, thermometer; babysitter service (surcharge). 

Hotel facilities/Services 

• Nursery with toy /game cupboard or kit with a serviced collection of toys/games
• Playground with sport and games equipment, seating and sun protection
• Children’s books and board games on a lending basis
• Information on excursions and programme suggestions are available. The summer folder (published in May 2012) featuring activities for all over Vorarlberg is made available free of charge by the Vorarlberg State Tourist Board, to which hotels may add their own, local and destination-specific suggestions .

Catering (for hotels providing half and/or full board) 

• Special table settings for children (tableware, glasses, cutlery, sets)
• High chairs, attachable infants’ seats
• Seat cushions for older children
• Opportunities to play at table while waiting
• Supervised children’s table available on request
• Children’s and/or family meals; smaller portions
• Low-price drinks for children or soft drinks in 1-litre bottles (complimentary juice bar/free drinks for children are listed in the hotel descriptions) 

Supervised activities for children

• Supervised activities for families/children or entertainment programme at the hotel on at least 5 days per week, at least during the peak season
