Per Kirkeby - Bricks: Sculpture and Architecture
Per Kirkeby (*1938 in Copenhagen) is internationally the most important representative of contemporary Scandinavian art. The exhibition will display the large-format preparatory drawings in ink and red chalk for Per Kirkeby’s brick sculptures along with small-scale sketches, sketchbooks, and photographs. Furthermore over a hundred of Per Kirkeby’s books will be on show which Kunsthaus Bregenz also received as a gift.
The women’s museum in Hittisau is the only one of its kind in Austria and makes artistic creation by women and their living environments visible in changing exhibitions. The museum is accommodated in a modern timber building in the village centre. For a long time, mountaineering was a male domain. The exhibition showcases pioneering female alpinists of the 19th and 20th centuries. At the same time, it directs attention to women who have always lived and worked in the mountains: high-alpine farming women, herdswomen, female poachers, smugglers and mountain guides.
For over two decades, the poolbar festival has been dedicated to pop music, fashion, architecture and design. The main site of the festival, which will run from 10 July to 15 August in Feldkirch and attracts some 20,000 visitors from all around the world, is the old indoor pool. An architecture contest is staged each year for the temporary design of the rooms and the immediate surroundings.
"Nessun dorma" - One of the most famous of all arias was composed by Giacomo Puccini for his last opera "Turandot". The festival is due to open for its 70th season on 22 July 2015 with Giacomo Puccini's Opera on the lake stage. Tickets for the 2015 season are on sale.

In the Angelika-Kauffmann hall, with its lovely panoramic views into the surrounding nature, star-studded artists will perform chamber music, lieder evenings, piano recitals, readings and hold master courses.
The Montafon Folk Music Days have long since become an international meeting place for musicians and fans of folk music. For three days – always on the last weekend in August – the valley is given over to down-to-earth folk music. The music groups come from Austria and the surrounding countries. They play and sing in guest houses, hotels and some mountain stations of the Montafon cableways, sometimes without keeping an eye on the time.
