Exhibition “Me, On the Summit! – The Story of a Female Alpinist”

The women’s museum in Hittisau is the only one of its kind in Austria and makes artistic creation by women and their living environments visible in changing exhibitions. The museum is accommodated in a modern timber building in the village centre. For a long time, mountaineering was a male domain. The exhibition showcases pioneering female alpinists of the 19th and 20th centuries. At the same time, it directs attention to women who have always lived and worked in the mountains: high-alpine farming women, herdswomen, female poachers, smugglers and mountain guides.

Bregenzer Frühling - Int. Dance festival 2016

This dance festival has attracted an international audience since the 1990s. For a good reason: this is the place to experience the stars of the international dance scene, and legendary premières and unforgettable performances have maintained a reliably high standard. Frequent standing ovations express the audience’s enthusiasm. The hall of the Festival Theatre is alive with dance between March and May 2016.
